DRIVERS' FORUM

The newly formed BPBA/CPA have arranged an open forum for ALL UK circuit drivers, mechanics and officials on Saturday the 24th of November.

It’s appreciated this is short notice but it’s essential that an initial get together is had as soon as possible to gain the ideas and direction required by everyone.

Kick off will be 11am at the below venue, it’s hoped that as many people can attend as possible to make a solid foundation of thoughts and ideas for next years race season.

Saturday 10th November marked the climax of the  Lowestoft & Oulton Broad Motor Boat Club's 85th and most successful year in decades as the 2018 Awards Dinner celebrated the accomplishments of it's Drivers, Teams, volunteers and "behind the scenes" workers.

July's European OSY400  Championships was recognised by the UIM World Governing Body as first class, requiring no recommended improvements. The Training Program for new drivers, especially  youngsters, had been fully subscribed  producing excellent prospects for 2019 and  the good weather helped to swell the spectator numbers.

Not only was the Club proud to host regular well supported racing for the starter GT15 Class with drivers as young as 9 years old but also the regular appearance of the UK's oldest Powerboat driver, Brian Block, who's determination and late season improved performance made him Club Sportsboat Champion. The "icing on the cake" was the triple World / National  Speed Records accomplishments of his grandson, Thomas Mantripp, in his first season of Hydroplane driving, following in his father's footsteps.

The Club will continue to strive for the sports future forward into 2019 with the hope of a possible World Championships in the coming years.
